Wouldn’t you also have to take into account the surface area of the object moving through the viscous fluid?  Granted that Nathan Adrian might be more, erm, aerodynamic than Adam but if Nathan’s surface area is greater than Adam’s then the drag force might have to be taken into account for posterity.
